DIANNA LYNN KORNITA

Dianna Lynn Kornita, 66, of Palos Hills, passed away on June 10 surrounded by family after a long and courageous fight with cancer.

Dianna was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 13, 1956 to Ruthand Edward Luman. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 36 years, Ken, and their daughters Nicole (Mitch) Lanik and Lisa (Jason Woodward), son Dan (Rawan), granddaughters Serena and Abigail, her sister Debbie (Don) Garon, brother Dave (Cindy) Luman, sister-in-law Pam Luman, Ken’s brother Jim (Lynn), sister Karen and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Dianna is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ruth Luman, her brother Ron (Pam) Luman and Ken’s parents Jim and Dorothy Kornita.

Di, as most knew her by, met her husband Ken 40 years ago after being introduced by a mutual friend. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was an avid skier enjoying ski trips to Montana, Colorado, California, Switzerland, and all over the Midwest. Di also loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Western Europe, Canada, Mexico, Jamacia, and Costa Rica. She was very active in her children’s school activities volunteering from preschool through high school and supported them in soccer, dance, poms, scouts, brownies and many, many other endeavors.

Even with her illness she found a way to enjoy every day she was given with her husband and family. Dianna always had an easy smile and laugh, and will truly be missed by all.

Family and friends gathered for a memorial visitation on June 16 at the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy., Palos Hills.

Jesús Morales Hernandez, Armando Morales Hernandez, Maria Concepción Morales Hernandez, Humberto Morales Hernandez, Leticia Morales Hernandez, Marivel Morales Hernandez, Jaime Morales Hernandez and José Omar Morales Hernandez. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Richard E. Samocki, age 92, of Lincolnwood, passed away June 9.

Preceded in death by his sisters and brother, Genieve, Cecilia, Pearl, Virginia and Chester. He will be remembered dearly by his nephews, Mark Kaspar, Matthew (Raul) Kaspar and his niece, Marie, her husband, David Scheithauer and his great nieces and nephew, Anna, Kate and Chris.

Clemente Valentin, 90, of Palos Heights, passed away peacefully on June 15.

He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Mercedes nee Valentin; loving father of Mina (Concepcion) Lopez, Clemente Valentin Jr., Yolanda (Santono) Melendez, Aide (Hector) Massini, Marilyn Felix (Luis R. Hernandez), David Valentin, and the late William (Armandina) Valentin; cherished grandfather of 22, proud great-grandfather of 19, great great-grandfather of 1.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Clemente Valentin would be appreciated.
