Three new trustees were sworn-in at last week’s Village of Summit board meeting.
Lorena Manriquez, Sonia Ponce, and Aurora Rodriguez took the oath of office at the beginning of the meeting, then took their seats in the board room with other village officials.
Judge Iris Chavira did the honor of swearing them in.
It was standing room only, with the crowd of family members, friends, and supporters winding into the entrance area of the room at Village Hall on Archer Road.
At the meeting, Mayor Sergio Rodriguez called for a motion to approve a resolution authorizing the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Village of Summit and the Township of Lyons for the 2023 Summer Employment Work Program. That was passed.
He also made the proclamation of National Safe Boating Week, which is May 20-26, and another for May being Motorcycle Awareness Month.
It was a short meeting, and after it was adjourned, plenty of pictures were taken with congratulations for the new board members.
The next board meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 15.
