The Village of Manteno will host its annual Community Clean-Up Day and Tree Planting event for residents on Saturday, May 6, beginning at 10 a.m., at Legion Park. Volunteers are encouraged to wear old clothes and bring work gloves for the day. Bring family and friends to clean up downtown Manteno! Students 16 and under will need a chaperone.

The schedule includes:

  • 10 a.m. – Kick-off at Legion Park, 51 W. Fourth Street, at Fourth and Main;
  • 10-11 a.m. – Clean-up, with volunteers assigned a zone;
  • 11:15 a.m. – Tree planting event at Legacy Park;
  • Noon – Complimentary BBQ lunch for all volunteers, provided by Votorantim Cimentos, Prairie Materials, LLC.
