At its Monday, April 17, meeting, the Manteno Village Board approved a budget amendment ordinance for the current fiscal year ending April 30.
The amended document shows total general fund revenues up $1,515,050 from the original budget projections, beating them by 24.38 percent.
The amended budget ordinance also projects total village government expenses will be smaller than originally projected last year by 4.7 percent or $391,055.
The amended budget shows the village will end the fiscal year on April 30,2023 with a general fund surplus of $59,722.
During the April 17 meeting, the Manteno Village Board also passed a budget for the next fiscal year that begins May 1, 2023 and ends April 30th of 2024. The new budget projects a less rosy outlook in the coming year. General fund revenues are expected to lag behind expenses by a whopping $2,102,700.
