On January 30, a Beecher resident was shot by a person with a handgun in the 200 block of Woodward Street in Beecher. After an investigation, a $5 million arrest warrant was issued by Judge Jessica Colon-Sayre for the suspect shooter, Mark Eugene, 57, of the 20200 block of Augusta Drive, in Olympia Fields. Charges on the arrest warrant were for aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
On March 1, the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force apprehended Mark Eugene and transported him to the Beecher Police Department where he was questioned. He was transported to the Will County Detention Facility on March 1.
