January 16, at approximately 11 a.m., officers took a burglary report in the 4900 block of Ribbon Drive. The residence was under construction when someone entered through a broken basement window and took a few items. Investigations is following up.
January 17, at approximately 8 a.m., a Park Forest resident reported being attacked by coworkers at Amazon during a break. The incident occurred the night before, but was not reported until the female victim realized she had some bruising and other injuries. Officers spoke with Amazon personnel and ultimately turned the case over to Investigations.
January 17, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers took a fraud report from an elderly resident. A subject, identifying himself as ‘Dealing Better Business Bureau,’ attempted to extort $15,000 from the victim through a bank transfer. Fortunately, the victim realized something didn’t feel right and aborted the bank transfer. If you aren’t sure…Call MPD right away!!
January 18, at approximately 1 a.m., a Monee-Manhattan Road traffic stop resulted in DeWayne Johnson, 26, of Gary, being cited for a bad headlight, a bad license plate registration, and a suspended driver’s license. He was processed and released.
January 18, shortly after midnight, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 6600 block of Monee-Manhattan Road for expired and suspended registration. The driver, LaTonya Charles, 39, of Chicago, was found to be driving while revoked with no insurance. She was cited accordingly.
January 20, at approximately 8 a.m., officers located Kevin Greaney, 34, of Monee, at the Super 8 Motel. Kevin was wanted by Will County for failure to appear. He did not have a bond and was transferred to Joliet.
January 20, at approximately noon, officers responded to a disturbance at the Red Roof Inn and left with Terrell Ferrell, 24, of Chicago. Ferrell was wanted for failure to appear. He was secured and transported.
January 21, at approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to Amazon for a burglary in progress. Security had scared an offender away as he was breaking into a vehicle. Officers located 10 vehicles, which had been broken into. Investigations is handling.
