Gloria Jean Palmateer, 88, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Bickford Senior Living. Born March 30, 1934, in Kankakee, she was the daughter of Bernard and Marie (Turner) Vrolyk. Gloria married Ronald Palmateer on June 15, 1952, in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2021.
Gloria was a secretary and administrative assistant, who loved reading, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, and word puzzles. She also was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Bourbonnais.
Surviving are son, Greg (Gina) Palmateer of Ft. Myers, Florida; daughter, Sheryl Palmateer of Bourbonnais; grandchildren, Joshua Palmateer of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Janelle Cole of Erie, Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Palmateer and Alexia Cole. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Palmateer; son, Kevin Palmateer; her parents, Bernard and Marie Vrolyk; and sisters, Mildred Milk and Lorraine Hilsenhoff.
A funeral service was held on January 3, at Faith Baptist Church, Bourbonnais, with Pastor Terry Anglea as officiant. Interment followed at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee.
