Primetime for Preschool, from 1 – 2 p.m., ages four/five. During this independent storytime experience, children will spend time with other preschoolers, while enjoying stories, songs, finger plays, games, and learning stations. Winter animals is this month’s theme. Register.
Anime Club, from 3 – 4:30 p.m., grades sixth/12. Join the Anime screenings, with titles picked on event day. Snacks and bottled water will be provided. Drop-in.
STEAM Tweens: Snowman Science, from 6 – 7 p.m., grades third/fifth. Let’s have fun in some fake snow. Join in the fun while facing the challenge of building the tallest snowman out of paper, design a snow scoop, and make personal snow launchers. Register.
Tour of Soups, from 6:30 – 8 p.m., adults. Learn how to make the best, most comforting soups at home this winter with Chef Kristyn. This program will be live streamed, via Zoom. Watch from home live or view the recording – available later for a limited time. Register.
Trivia Night at Evil Horse, 1338 Main Street, from 7 – 9 p.m. Sci-fi is this month’s theme. Compete on your own or bring a group of friends. Prizes will be awarded. Seating is first come, first served. Drop-in.

Coding with Dash, from 10 – 11 a.m., grades third/fifth. Offered monthly. Each session will focus on a specific challenge to help students get an introduction to using block-based programming and code, with a focus on robotics. Register.

Tuesday, January 17
Time-out for Toddlers, from 10 – 10:45 a.m., ages two/three. Share stories, rhymes, music, and other activities you and your toddler can enjoy together. Animals in the snow is this month’s theme. Register.
Yeah, Write: Word Hunt, from 6 – 6:45 p.m., grades second/fifth. The group will be going on a Word Hunt! After making baskets, participants will go on a hunt through the Youth Services Department to collect words. Once the words have been gathered, the group will put them together to make a story. Register.
Young Adult (for adults) Book Club, from 6 – 7 p.m., adults. Join in a discussion of “I Must Betray You,” by Ruta Sepetys.

Teen Video Game Tournament, from 2:45 – 4 p.m., ages 13 – 18. One game will be chosen to play for each tournament, and players will experience fun yet competitive play. Register.
The Greatest Sitcoms of All Time, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., adults. Enjoy this funny program about funny programs! Watch hilarious snippets from the most beloved American sitcoms, learn how these programs have changed over the years, and attempt to answer tough trivia questions posed by presenter Martin Gitlin, the author of “The Greatest Sitcoms of All-Time.” Watch on Zoom from home or at the library.
