Lions looking to start SW Side club
Set meeting at Archer Heights Library

Eye screenings for children ages 6 months to 6 years will be offered at no charge by Lions International, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Archer Heights Branch Library, 5055 S. Archer.
Each child must be accompanied by a parent or other adult.
Nine days later, the Lions will return to the library to host a meeting to generate interest in membership in the new Chicago Southwest Lions Club.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29
The Chicago Southwest Lions Club will join the more than 50,000 Lions clubs in communities around the world. The new club is now seeking civic-minded men and women to join them in working together to meet needs within the community.
“Lions are people who want to help, who want to make a difference, and who want to have fun while doing it,” a club statement to the press said last week. “Lions give a lot to their communities, but they get back something that’s even more valuable – the satisfaction that comes from changing lives. In addition to providing hands-on support, Lions clubs give members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends and become leaders in the community.”
