Jill M. Burrichter, 57, of Palos Hills, passed away July 20 after a battle with cervical cancer.

She was the beloved daughter of the late John F. and Beverly J. nee Kristof Burrichter; loving sister of Jay (Martha), Jon (Donna) and late Jody Burrichter; dearest aunt of Haley, Haiden, Hanna, Wayne, Michael and Ryan.

The family will have a private burial at Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery.

GuerreroRUBEN GUERRERO

Former Summit Village Trustee Ruben Guerrero passed away peacefully at his Summit home on Sunday, July 24.

Guerrero served on the Summit Village Board for two terms, from 1997-2005, being the first Hispanic voted into the position. He ended his political career after he unsuccessfully ran for village clerk in 2005 when he was defeated by Patricia Tichacek.

Born in Ocampo, Mexico, Guerrero came to Summit in 1972 at the age of 16.

He worked hard and bought three different homes in Summit, where he and his wife chose to stay.

Guerrero was very involved with St. Blase Church in Summit for many years. He took over as the CCD Program Coordinator position at the Church in 1992, after being a volunteer teacher prior to that.

He was preceded in death two years ago by his beloved wife, Abundia. Ruben was the loving father of Aristeo (Elizabeth) Guerrero, Jessica Guerrero and Isabel (Brian) Milke. Proud grandfather to his little “best friend” Benjamin. Dear Brother of Carmen (Pedro) Vasquez, Teresita (Jesus) Ortiz, Pascual Guerrero, Guadalupe Mercado, Jesus (Sylvia) Guerrero, Jose (Veronica) Guerrero and Maria (Jose) Molina. Dear Son of the late Pascual and late Aniceta Guerrero. Dear Godfather and special Uncle to Raul (Monica) Monsivais and he will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Ruben was a very hard working, friendly, humble and very religious man.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, from 4-8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Visitation will on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of prayers at 10:15 a.m. There will be a procession from the funeral home to St. Blasé Church for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Resurrection Cemetery where Ruben will be laid to rest next to Abundia.

Victoria was an active member of St. Cletus Church, and Auxiliary member of American Legion Post 1941. Victoria is preceeded in death by her 6 sisters and 1 brother.
