LAUREN RENEE FIELDS

Lauren Renee Fields, 32, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 27.

She was survived by her parents Deanna (Scott) VanDell and Larry Fields. Her loving fiancé William Gates Jr. Her grandparents Sam & Linda Lupo and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was graduate of Oak Lawn High School in 2008 and loved working in the library field. Lauren was an avid writer and artist and loved to travel. Lauren was an inspiration to so many people. She fought her entire battle with courage, dignity and grace.

Thank you to everyone who supported #Laurenstrong. It gave her strength to fight right to the end.

In memory of Lauren, donations to the Morton Arboretum, are much appreciated.

Arlene A. Kotil, 88, of Palos Heights, passed away on May 27.

She was the beloved daughter of the late William and Anna Kotil, nee Zawetski. Dear cousin and second cousin of many. Loving friend of Marilyn Yunker.

Arlene had many wonderful friends, neighbors, caregivers, and pets.

Arlene was a player in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, and the Illinois Retired Teachers Association. She was a former teacher at Richards and Eisenhower high schools. She loved golf, bowling, baseball and traveling.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to Saint Alexander Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Entombment Saint Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park.

Dr. Sushila Singhal, formerly of New Delhi, India, passed away May 7 in Chicago, surrounded by her family.

Sushila is survived by her 3 daughters Namita (Vivek) Sahgal, Renu (Rajesh) Shukla, Mridu Garg as well as 7 grandchildren: Neha and Viraj Sahgal, Mira, Shivani, and Nikhil Shukla, and Dilan and Devin Garg. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Kusum and Manju, and 2 brothers, Chandra Prakash and Anil Kumar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gauri Shanker, her parents, and her brothers Satya Prakash and Gyan Prakash, sister Suman and son-in-law Ravi Garg. She also leaves behind 2 furry grandchildren who will miss her: Xena and Hazel.

He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy; loving father of Robert (Kara) Ward, Ronald (Laura) Ward and Michael (Peggy) Ward; cherished grandfather of Conor Ward, Kirsten Ward, Lauren (Sean) Sebastian, Ronald Ward Jr., Jonathon Ward, Paige Ward and Maddie Ward; proud great grandfather of Liam. Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann O’Donnell and brother, Thomas Ward. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. For many years, Robert was the Scout Master for Troop 475 of St. Daniel the Prophet Church. He was also a devoted staff member of Owasippe Camp.

Visitation was held May 25 at St. Daniel the Prophet Church until time of Mass. Procession from the church to Resurrection Cemetery where Robert was laid to rest with Military Honors.
