Cherished husband and best friend to Gina (nee Rian) for 51 years; brother of John, Joe III and the late Tom Depcik; dear brother-in-law of Reggie (Gloria) Rian, Natalie (Doug) Duey, the late Colleen Caproni, the late Richard (Lydia) Rian, the late Kimberly (Sam) Bortolami; fond uncle to many.  Longtime member of Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade. Richard F. Jovanovich passed away at home January 4 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Rochelle (nee Moscato); loving father of Sharon (Michael) Weyhmueller and Susan Stulas; proud grandfather of Jackson, Isabella, Nicholas, Max and Stefanie; dear brother of Steve (late Phyllis) Jovanovich and brother-in-law of Susan (late Ron) Lawton; fond uncle of Richard, Mike, Steve, Robert and Debbie.

Visitation was held January 11 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation was held January 12 at the funeral home until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Blasé Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Richard was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.

Donna J. Juknuis (nee Wencel), age 78, of Princeton, passed away January 6.

Beloved wife of Kenneth; loving mother of Patricia (Dirk) Schulz and Brian Juknuis; dearest grandmother of Samantha (John) Spindler, Brian Juknuis Jr., Christopher (Candice) Dodson, Cedar Schulz, Melissa Juknuis, Megan Juknuis, Leanne (Kyle) Adamsheck and the late Joshua Dodson; cherished great grandmother of Caiden, Alyssa, Jack, Ayden, Alex, Zachary, Aiden, Meliana, Khloe, Leia, Ella, Donna, Chevios and Selah.

Visitation was held January 12 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation was held January 13 at the funeral home until time of Celebration of Life Service. Donna was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. Sophie S. Kurdas (nee Sarafin), age 96, longtime resident of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community, passed away January 5.

Beloved wife of the late Richard; loving Mother of Linda (Robert) Kozoman, Mary Ann (Edward) Ban and Bruce (Louise) Kurdas; dearest grandmother of Janet (Thomas) Larchey, Bryan (Julie) Kozoman, Michael (Annie) Ban, Matthew Kurdas and Marc Kurdas; great grandmother of Jackson, Allie, Abby Sue, Ethan, Logan and A.J. Sophie was preceded in death by her five brothers. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held January 10 until time of Mass at St. Daniel the Prophet Church. Procession from the church to Resurrection Cemetery where Sophie was laid to rest next to her beloved husband. PetersonROBERTA PETERSON

Roberta Peterson (nee Willard), age 85, passed away December 23.

She was born in Golden, Illinois to a family of farmers, teachers and preachers. In adulthood, Roberta was an elementary school teacher, beginning in 1961 in Davenport, Iowa, then teaching primarily at Robin Lyle Elementary School (Indian Springs School District #109) in Bridgeview through the 1970s. Roberta was also greatly admired for her skill in baking and intricately decorating large figurine cakes. For about 40 years, she and her family attended the LaGrange Bible Church.

Roberta is survived by a husband, Brownlee; two children, Marsha (husband, Jeff) and Mark (wife, Barbara); one grandchild, Madeline; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by parents Glenn and Ruth (Taylor) Willard; two brothers, Donald and Gerald Willard; one sister-in law, Dorothy (Gleckler) Willard; and many cousins.

Extended family will celebrate her life on a private online memorial conference call in January, to be followed by a private family gathering this summer. Margaret Turyna (nee Wierzbicki), age 101, passed away December 3.

Beloved wife of the late Earl F. Sr.; dear mother of Cynthia (Robert) Runowski, Judith Turyna, Earl Jr. (Kathleen) and Bruce (Janice) Turyna; loving grandmother of Kelli (Seth) Snider, Daniel, the late Trenton, Earl III (Dena), Katherine, Tracy (Bret) Rocchietti, Brian (Karen) Runowski, Cheryl (Mark) Duvall; great grandmother of Avery, Jonathon, Emma, Benjamin, Casey, Maddie, Robert and Adele. Preceded in death by her four brothers, Raymond, John, Steve and Edmund and her two sisters, Eleanor and Julie. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Virginia Ventura (nee Myroup), 84, passed away on January 13.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Ventura for 61 years. Loving mother of Gail (Jason) Lucci, Pamela (Gus) Boza, Nancy (Rick) Murray, Jill (Ken) Hart. Cherished Grandma of Rick (Michelle) Rybarski, Jacob (Yesenia) Rybarski, Dana (Jordan) Hellriegel, Melissa Rybarski (Ben Guildenzoph), Analisa Ventura, Tommy Boza III, Alex (Sofia) Murray, Maxwell Murray, Michael Murray, Ken (Craig) Hart-Rohlfs and Camille (Greg) Wolf.  Proud Great-Grandma of Aspen, Nathan, Mia, Noah, Londyn, Austin, Charlotte and Heidi. Treasured daughter of the late George and Irene Myroup (nee: Englund). Dear sister of Ann Reeder (preceded in death) and Carol Chlebek. Aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. Friend to all.

Ginny will be truly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing her.
