Holiday shopping came with a local touch Nov. 7 when Shepherd High School hosted its annual vendor market in Palos Heights.

The market gave shoppers a chance to browse a variety of items from local vendors, including handmade jewelry, woodwork, artwork, baked goods and holiday gifts. There were plenty of options for those looking to cross a few names off their Christmas lists or find something a little different from the usual store-bought gifts.

The Shepherd Athletic Boosters organized the event, which also gave visitors a chance to stop at the concession stand for a bite to eat while shopping.

Admission was $2, with the market held at Shepherd High School, 13049 S. Ridgeland Ave.

The athletic boosters thanked the community for coming out and supporting the event. Their work helps support Shepherd’s athletic programs, and events like the vendor market give the community another way to show its support.
