The Summit Park District wants a resident, or anyone else, to design its Christmas card this year.

The district is holding its first Christmas Card Design Contest, and the winning design will be featured on the cover of the park district’s Christmas card. Entries are due Nov. 20, and the district plans to announce the winner before Dec. 1.

The design on the card is the prize. There is no additional award.

The contest has no age limit and no residency requirement, said Yesenia Vazquez with the Summit Park District.

“It’s open to anyone, so it doesn’t have an age limit, so it could be from the oldest to the youngest,” she said.

Vazquez said the contest was her idea.

“I have kids of my own, and I know that they love doing anything that has to do with Christmas, coloring and all that,” she said.

She said she wanted to get residents and others involved with the park district.

Designs must have a Christmas theme, Vazquez said. Any paper works, and she can adjust the design to fit the card, she said.

Entries should include the artist’s name, age and phone number so the district can contact the winner.

Entries can be dropped off at the park district’s Administrative Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The park district is at 5700 S. Archer Road. If the office is closed and the Spark Center is open, entries can be left at the Spark Center, Vazquez said.
