The Evergreen Park Public Library is giving adults a chance to enjoy the library in a different way, with an after-hours evening of reading, creativity and conversation planned for Friday, Nov. 6.
“We want the Library to be a welcoming third space where people can connect, explore, and feel at home,” said Mary Black, the library’s adult services manager. “We’re encouraging registrants to bring a friend who hasn’t visited before and discover all the Library has to offer.”
Library Night Out will run from 6 to 8 p.m. and is open to adults ages 21 and older. The evening will offer a mix of activities, whether guests want to try something new, learn about their family history or simply relax with a book.
Visitors can join book talks, enjoy silent reading by the fireplace or explore their ancestry using Ancestry.com. A collage journaling activity will give guests a chance to get creative, while a foot Pilates workshop will focus on foot strength and mobility.
The evening will wrap up with a sparkling wine presentation and sampling hosted by Spoke & Vine wine bar.
The event will take place at the Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave.
