Slawomir Szymaszek died Oct. 14, 2026. He was 49.
He is survived by his wife, Ewelina (née Pitula); his sons, David and Sebastian; his mother, Henryka Szymaszek; his mother-in-law, Halina Pitula; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jozef Szymaszek, and his father-in-law, Jozef Pitula.
Visitation: Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 23, 2026. Prayers begin at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Our Lady Mother of the Church Polish Mission, 116 Hilton St., Willow Springs, for 10 a.m. Mass.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
