The Bridgeview DMV at 7358 W. 87th St. is scheduled to close Friday, Oct. 9, for renovations, according to the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.

A temporary DMV at Worth Township Hall, 11601 S. Pulaski Road, is scheduled to open Tuesday, Oct. 13, and will handle driver and vehicle services during the work, the office said.

The pop-up will be open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will handle driver’s license applications and renewals, title and registration, REAL ID applications and license plate sticker renewals.

Seniors can also use a walk-in DMV at the Bridgeview Community Center, 7900 S. Oketo Ave. Hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day.

A full-service DMV office is also open at CTF Illinois, 18230 Orland Parkway in Orland Park.

The renovation will convert the Bridgeview office to what the state calls its One-Stop-Shop model. Under that setup, employees are cross-trained in both driver and vehicle services, so customers can complete several transactions at one counter instead of moving between service areas.

“By bringing the One-Stop-Shop model to Bridgeview, we’re making it easier for residents to complete the services they need in one place,” Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias said in a statement.

The office has not set a reopening date for the Bridgeview facility. It said it will announce one later this year.

Appointments can be scheduled and some services completed online at www.ilsos.gov.
