Judy A. Carlson, 71, Peotone, died Septmeber 11, 2026, at home. Celebration of life September 27, from 2-8 p.m., Peotone American Legion.
Judy A. Carlson, 71, of Peotone, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 11, 2026, at her home.
Born April 18, 1955, in Chicago, she was the daughter of William and Annette Lestinsky Paprocki.
Judy was married to Jeffrey R. Carlson, who passed away March 30, 2013, after 20 years of marriage.
For many years, Judy taught special education at Speed Academy for Lifelong Learning in Chicago Heights. She was actively involved in her community and took pride in helping others wherever she could.
Judy cherished the time she spent in Florida and the friendships she made there. She also was known for her famous carrot cake and caramels.
Surviving are one son, Eric (Melissa) Carlson of Chicago; two sisters, Caroline (Wally) Trauscht and Annette Dobrzeniecki; two brothers, Tom (Linda) Paprocki and Bill (Mary) Paprocki; one brother-in-law, Rick Ratkovich; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Kathleen Ratkovich.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 27, from 2 – 8 p.m., at the Peotone American Legion.
Memorials may be made to the donors’ choice.
