Donna Marie McBride, 78

Donna Marie McBride, 78, of Monee, passed away on September 15, 2026. Born March 12, 1948, she was a beloved and cherished presence to all who knew her – devoted in her love for family, compassionate in her care for others, and hard-working in the steady way she met life each day.

Donna was the daughter of Andrew and Margaret Smado and graduated from Bloom High School, Class of 1967.

Donna was married to the love of her life, Ronald L. McBride, for 58 years. Together they built a family that remained at the center of her world.

Donna found joy in the time spent cooking and baking for others and in the calm of fishing. A true social butterfly and unmistakably the life of the party, she had a gift for bringing people together and making them feel welcome. Above all, she loved being a grandma, and her warmth and kindness touched many lives. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Tracy L. (Travis Skyberg) McBride and Patrick Ronald (Jennifer) McBride; her grandson, Zayden Tracy McBride, whom she loved dearly; siblings, Andrew (Sally) Smado, John Smado, and Josephine Smado; sister-in-law, Mary Jo (John) Verhaeghe; and brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) McBride.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Margaret Smado; siblings, David Smado, Frankie Smado, and Tommy Smado, and brother-in-law, Donald (Danielle) McBride.

A celebration of life was held on September 25, at the American Legion Post in Peotone.
