Tinley Park-based American Sale Corp. Is holding a massive liquidation sale ahead of its transfer to new ownership next year.
The company has not identified who the new owner will be or the exact date ownership will change.
The company was founded 66 years ago as American Toy Sales and is well known throughout the suburbs and northwest Indiana for its holiday decorations, particularly its Halloween and Christmas decor that includes inflatables, lights, trees, lawn displays and Lemax collectible ceramic buildings.
American Sale is also a popular seller of pools, hot tubs, patio furniture, umbrellas, grills, gazebos and game tables.
The Tinley Park outlet store is already closed and the liquidation sales are underway at its seven locations in Bridgeview, Orland Park, Carol Stream, Lake Zurich, Naperville, Romeoville, and Merrillville, Ind. There also is a warehouse in Tinley Park.
A Lansing location closed several years ago.
The company has posted an FAQ page on its website to explain what is happening:
“We understand that a lot of questions may arise from our new Total Liquidation Sale. Well, a new chapter is unfolding at American Sale and we are excited to share some important news,” the company posted on its website.
“After 66 years of proudly running a family-business, the Jones family is currently in the process of finalizing a sale with new ownership for American Sale. We are so thankful for all the support, loyalty, and generosity of our customers and employees. And we look forward to serving you as we continue doing our Total Liquidation Sale. We are clearing out our inventory as a part of the sale process. So that means AMAZING once-in-a-lifetime deals for you!”
As part of the sale, all total liquidation purchases are final as of Sept. 3. All deliveries have to be completed by the end of the year. Gift card sales have ended and gift cards and merchandise credits will be honored through Dec. 13.
Product warranties are not affected by the sale.
The pool installation season will end on Nov. 15.
