Paul A. Dina, 63, of Worth, was arrested on Aug. 12 and charged with driving under the influence and four other offenses at 16081 LaGrange Rd. Police said they were dispatched to a crash and Dina told them, “I’m sick from alcohol.” According to the police report he was slurring his words and when he was asked what he was doing in Orland Park, he replied, “I’m taking the dog to the hospital because I’m sick.” Police said he failed sobriety tests and he was arrested. He had a court appearance scheduled for Sept. 23 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
Retail theft
Tyrees T. Cole, 21, of Chicago, was arrested on Aug. 17 and charged with retail theft and two other offenses at Jewel, 9350 W. 159th St. Police said they were dispatched to Jewel, where officials said a theft took place and a suspect ran out of the store. According to the police report, when they caught up with Cole, he tried running away. Police said they grabbed him and he pulled away. an officer pulled out a taser and Cole complied without them having to use it, police said. Cole also gave a false name, according to the police report. He was arrested and had a court date scheduled for Sept. 23 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
Vehicular hijacking
Jordan A. Watson, 22, of the 9700 block of Crescent Cir Park in Orland Park, was arrested on Aug. 17 and charged with vehicular hijacking and aggravated assault at 143rd Street and Ravinia Avenue. Police said they received a dispatch regarding a suspicious person complaint who may have a knife and that when they found Watson, and they found an unsheathed fixed bladed knife in his front right pocket. According to the police report, he was trying to break into a subject’s vehicle and Orland Park Police Department Milestone camera footage confirmed it. He was arrested and was housed and in custody at the Orland Park Police Department pending transport to the 5th District Courthouse.
Eluding police
Antwon L. Bradford, 29, of Chicago, was arrested on Aug. 23 and charged with attempting to elude a peace officer and two other offenses at 158th Place and LaGrange Road. Police said they saw a driver of a car without a seatbelt fastened and pulled the car over. According to the police report, they stopped the vehicle but then the driver looked in his mirror and fled from the traffic stop. Police said they followed but then terminated the travel and did not pursue. According to the report, the Orland police contacted the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network and relayed car and license plate information to them. Police said the car was eventually detained by 14th District state police and that Bradford was driving the vehicle. Police said he told them he didn’t stop because his driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested and has an Oct. 13 hearing scheduled at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
