Two people were arrested after they stole items from a store in Countryside.
Jhoneisy M. Guillen-Lopez, 29, Juan D. Brochero-Sabaria, 19, both of Chicago, were arrested after items worth $536.78 were stolen from TJ Maxx, 5555 S. Brainard Ave., on Sept. 12.
Loss prevention employees observed the two steal merchandise from the store before fleeing in a grey Chevrolet SUV.
Officers soon stopped the vehicle. Store employees identified both suspects as the offenders.
Police recovered all of the stolen merchandise and a firearm from the car. Guillen-Lopez was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and released with a court date.
Brochero-Sabaria, initially provided a false name to responding officers.
After being fingerprinted during the arrest process, his real identity was discovered. He had an outstanding warrant from DuPage County for his arrest.
He was arrested without incident and later released to the custody of the DuPage County Sheriff.
