The Presbyterian Church in Orland Park will celebrate a milestone this fall as the congregation marks 50 years of serving the community.
The celebration will take place Sunday, Oct. 18, beginning with worship at 10 a.m., followed by an anniversary celebration at 11 a.m. Cake, ice cream and other refreshments will be served following the service.
The church’s history in Orland Park dates back to Jan. 5, 1975, when its first service was held at 143rd Street and West Avenue. The congregation was officially chartered the following year on May 2, 1976.
After spending its early years at its original location, the church moved to its current home at 13401 S. Wolf Road in the spring of 1990.
The anniversary celebration will give members and the community an opportunity to reflect on the church’s history and the people who have helped make it a part of Orland Park for five decades.
The congregation welcomes the community to join in celebrating the milestone.
