Deneen F. Kveton (nee Simons), 85, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 13, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Frank and Antoinette Simons (nee Bickness).
Deneen was the beloved wife of the late James A. Kveton, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Deneen’s family meant everything to her. She was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved.
Deneen knew how to have fun and enjoy life. She loved playing bingo, trying her luck on the slot machines, spending time with her beloved Boxer dogs, and was an avid hummingbird enthusiast. These simple pleasures, along with time spent with family and friends, brought her great happiness.
She is survived by her sisters, Karen (the late Joseph) Pyra and Barbara (the late Henry) Frenzel.
She is also survived by her children: Frank (Christine) Kveton, Suzanne (Donald) Borowski, Sandra Kveton, Kevin (Shelley) Kveton, and Deneen (David) Taylor.
She was a cherished grandmother to Grant, Kelly, Ryan, Brandon (Keeley), Nathan, Douglas (Brydie), Amanda (Ryan), Nicholas (Kaylie), Jessica (Joe), Clay, Madison (Logan), Julia (Matt), Devin, Grace (Anthony), Jacob, and Jeremy, and a proud great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Kveton; her son, James Joseph Kveton; her grandson, Jim Kupchek; and her parents.
Visitation: Tuesday, September 15, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, Palos Hills, Illinois.
Graveside Burial: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
