Overview:
Monee Police Blotter contains charges for hit-and-run, no valid commercial license, speeding, uninsured vehicle, plus attempted vehicle theft and vehicle pursuit.

MONEE
On July 26, Monee Police investigated a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of a business in the 5900 block of W. Monee-Manhattan Road. Officers reviewed video of the parking lot to identify the offending vehicle and then located the offending vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 25400 block of S. Ridgeland Avenue. The driver, Ronald S. Cosner, 67, of Daytona Beach, Florida, was cited for failure to give information after damaging an unattended vehicle and failure to report an accident. Cosner was released on a pre-trial notice to appear.
On July 31, Dzhoni Mzhaviia, 32, of Ellensburg, Washington, was arrested after being stopped for a registration violation on a commercial vehicle. Mzhaviia was cited for overweight on registration, no valid commercial driver’s license, and operating an intrastate motor carrier of property without a license. Mzhaviia was released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear.
On August 2, Monee Police responded to the 6600 block of W. Monee-Manhattan Road for a vehicle theft in progress. Witnesses observed the offender break the window of a vehicle to gain entry. Before the offender could enter the vehicle, the witnesses yelled at the offender to stop. The offender then entered a gray Durango and fled the scene. Case was turned over to investigations
On August 4, Monee Police arrested Kevin W. Reed, 23, of Chicago, in the 5100 block of W. Court Street, for driving with a suspended driver’s license after being stopped for speeding. Reed was cited for speeding 25-mph over statutory limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no valid registration. Reed was released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear.
On August 6, three male subjects, dressed in all black with hoodies and masks, broke into Lacy’s gaming cafe in the 5600 block of Monee-Manhattan Road and removed two cash boxes. Subjects were encountered by MPD officers as they fled in a late model Audi sedan. The suspects were pursued northbound on I-57 until speeds and heavy traffic near I-80 created a life safety issue and the officers terminated the pursuit. Investigations is following up.
