Renovations at Brookfield’s Maple South Park are continuing, with work advancing toward an anticipated September reopening.

Trustees approved grading and earthwork at this week’s village board meeting. Construction at the park, located at 3915 Maple Ave., began in June.

The next step will be installing sod, once the summer heat subsides. After earthworks are complete, new playground equipment, signage, tables and trash receptacles will be installed. The project also includes installing paved access into the park from the public sidewalk.

Renovations at the park represent a significant upgrade to Brookfield’s recreational infrastructure and will provide residents with enhanced green space and outdoor amenities.

Details about the park’s official reopening date and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be announced as the project progresses.
