A storm-related power outage has forced the Fifth Municipal District Courthouse in Bridgeview to reschedule all cases scheduled for July 28, according to an administrative order issued Tuesday.

The courthouse, 10220 S. 76th Avenue, lost electrical power throughout the building, and restoration time is unknown, officials said.

Cases will be moved to other courthouses or rescheduled as follows:

Criminal cases: Initial appearances and electronic monitoring violation hearings will move to the Sixth Municipal District Courthouse in Markham, 16501 S. Kedzie Parkway.

Felony preliminary hearings: Continued to August 4.

Other felony cases: Continued to August 4.

Traffic and misdemeanor cases: Continued to September 3.

Domestic violence initial appearances: Moved to the Leighton Criminal Courthouse, 2600 S. California Ave., Chicago.

Emergency protective orders: Moved to the Domestic Violence Courthouse, 555 W. Harrison St., Chicago.

Civil protective order return cases: Continued to August 13.

Other domestic violence cases: Continued to August 4.

Civil cases will receive continuances by court order from the presiding judge.
