Numerous police departments across the region are hosting National Night Out celebrations on Tuesday, Aug. 4, offering residents a chance to meet police officers, firefighters, and emergency responders in a family-friendly setting.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign held the first Tuesday of August that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
Burbank will host its event from 5 to 8 p.m. at 5650 W. 75th Place, featuring food, a raffle, and a movie in the park. A bonfire will begin at 8 p.m., with “Superman” as the featured film.
Countryside, Western Springs, La Grange, La Grange Park, and Brookfield are joining forces for a shared event from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ideal Park, 9901 W. 58th Street in Countryside. Police departments and emergency responders from all five communities will be on hand.
Forest View and Stickney are hosting their first-ever National Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. at 4100 Ridgeland Avenue, Stickney. The event will feature emergency vehicles, family activities, food, giveaways, safety demonstrations, live music, and photo opportunities.
Indian Head Park’s event returns to Blackhawk Park, 111 Cascade Drive, where residents can meet officers and first responders, view a helicopter, visit local vendors, enjoy food, and attend a special Star Show after the event.
Summit is planning its largest National Night Out yet from 5 to 8 p.m. at Summit Park, 5700 S. Archer Road. The event will include food, a bounce house, giveaways, and activities for children.
