Local man charged with driving on suspended license
Palos Hills resident also cited for cannabis possession in vehicle
Juan D. Martinez, 29, of Palos Hills, was charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on June 29 in the 8800 block of West 95th Street.
Police cited him for other traffic violations and issued a local ordinance ticket for unlawful possession of cannabis in a vehicle.
Thieves pose as tree cutters in $124K heist
Palos Hills police are investigating a June 30 ruse burglary in the 10300 block of South 75th Avenue in which thieves stole $4,300 in cash and silver coins valued at $120,000. The homeowner reported answering the front door to a man wearing a ski mask who offered to cut down trees in the backyard. While the homeowner let the man walk through the house to the back deck, two other people sneaked through the unlocked front door and stole valuables from an upstairs bedroom.
Joliet and Chicago residents stopped in separate traffic incidents
Ariel K. Smith, 25, of Joliet, was charged with driving a vehicle with suspended registration following a traffic stop on June 30 in the 8700 block of West 95th Street. Police cited her for other traffic offenses.
Matthew T. Ledesma, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic crash on July 2 in the 10500 block of South Harlem Avenue. Police also charged him with driving with suspended registration.
Local man charged with DUI after crash
Nigel A. Wilson, 20, of Palos Hills, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic crash on July 3 in the 10400 block of Tod Drive. Police cited him for other driving offenses.
