Drunken driving charge after accident
A 64-year-old man was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 6:30 p.m. June 12.
When police arrived in the 11100 block of West 84th Street, they found two damaged vehicles.
The driver, who had blood on his face, had slurred speech and did not know he was sitting in front of his home, police said. When asked where he was, he said he thought he was on Interstate 55 and that the year was 2025.
License and registration violations
A 35-year-old man received two tickets after he was pulled over at 7:45 p.m. June 18 in the 8600 block of Archer for having a suspended registration. He was cited for driving on a suspended license and driving on a registration suspended for non-insurance.
Riding atop Jeep’s hood not a good idea
A 35-year-old man who was riding atop the hood of a red 2024 Jeep and waving at passersby in the 8100 block of Archer Avenue at 11:13 p.m. June 18 soon got the attention of officers.
Police pulled over the Jeep and detected a strong odor of alcohol from both the man and the driver, a 44-year-old woman.
Asked why he had been riding atop the hood, the man said he was doing it for a YouTube video. The woman told police they had been watching a game at a bar in Bridgeview earlier.
The woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. The man was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.
Driver’s license never issued
A 36-year-old man whose 2009 Toyota was pulled over at 9:08 a.m. June 19 for not having a valid registration received two tickets. He was cited for driving without a valid license, which was never issued, and driving on a registration suspended for non-insurance.
Three tickets for driver on Archer Avenue
A 49-year-old man driving a white 2005 Ford southbound on Archer was ticketed for speeding, driving without insurance, and driving on a revoked license at 8:34 p.m. June 19.
Three violations for 40-year-old driver
A 40-year-old man pulled over for having a suspended registration received three tickets at 2:57 p.m. June 22 at Archer Avenue and Willow Springs Road.
The man gave police a Florida driver’s license and said his Illinois driver’s license had been suspended due to not paying child support. He was cited for driving on a suspended license, driving on a suspended registration, and driving without insurance.
Solicitor sent packing
A 30-year-old man going door-to-door on June 22 in the 200 block of Hill Street offering free roof inspections was told to leave after it was determined he lacked a solicitation permit from the village
Motorcyclist flees from police
An officer on patrol in an unmarked car determined a motorcycle had no visible registration and attempted to pull it over near Archer Avenue and Willow Springs Road at 7:38 p.m. June 23.
The motorcyclist, however, declined to stop. After the officer activated his emergency lights, the motorcyclist sped up, entered the oncoming lane of traffic, and swerved around multiple vehicles heading north on Archer. The officer stopped his pursuit and the motorcyclist escaped.
Speeder ticketed twice
A 20-year-old man driving a white 2019 Dodge Challenger at 77 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7700 block of La Grange Road received two tickets at 9:48 p.m. June 23. He was charged with speeding 26 to 34 miles per hour over the limit and driving on a suspended license.
Speeding driver gets two citations
A 31-year-old man driving a black 2022 Tesla clocked at 63 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7700 block of La Grange Road was cited for speeding and driving without a valid license at 11:37 p.m. June 23.
