DUI and child endangerment
A 40-year-old man was charged with child endangerment after his two young sons, ages 3 and 1, were found in the back seat of the white Ford he was driving while drunk, police said.
Timothy Brennan was arrested at 5:43 p.m. June 29 in the 8800 block of West 87th Street after he was pulled over for not securing a load in his vehicle.
An officer detected a strong smell of alcohol and Brennan failed several field sobriety tests.
Brennan was charged with driving under the influence, two counts of child endangerment, failure to cover a load, driving on an expired registration and driving without insurance.
Three tickets for driver
Angel L. Davila III, 30, received three tickets at Frontage Road and Garden Lane at 9:39 p.m. June 29 after a random check found his registration had been suspended.
He was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving on a registration suspended for non-insurance and driving without insurance.
Using cell phone leads to five tickets
A driver whom police saw using her cell phone while driving received five tickets at 8:35 a.m. June 30 at 79th Street and 88th Avenue.
Angelica J. Aleman, 33, was charged with using an electronic communication device while driving, driving on a revoked registration, driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and failure to alert the Secretary of State’s office about an address change, police said.
Driver blames “sport” mode for speeding
A 19-year-old man told police he was doing 72 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone on Roberts Road because he forgot his silver 2010 Infiniti was in “sport” mode.
Ruben Vega received a speeding ticket after he was pulled over at 71st Street and Roberts Road at 10:27 a.m. July 1.
Speeding, three other tickets
After Ciera F. Jasinski, 22, was clocked doing 62 miles per hour in her white 2019 Acura SUV in a 35-mph zone in the 8500 block of Roberts Road at 4 p.m. July 1, she received four tickets.
Jasinski was cited for speeding, improper lane usage, failure to display her license and driving without insurance.
Speeder driving “only 66 mph” cited
Joseph A. Giovenco, 31, was ticketed for speeding after radar found him doing 71 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 8500 block of 79th Street.
Giovenco told police that he should not be ticketed because he “was only driving 66 mph” in his black 2017 Toyota sedan.
Driver cited after doing 93 mph
A man who told police he had a few drinks at a Fourth of July party was cited for drunken driving at 1:20 a.m. July 5 at Archer Road and Maplewood Drive.
Police pulled him over after radar found him doing 93 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7300 block of Archer. He told police that he was speeding in his black 2011 Infiniti because his mother was ill.
James P. Gaspard, 58, was ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the limit and illegal transportation of alcohol.
Altered temporary plate lands man in hot water
Ahmad M. Alashram, 22, was pulled over at 79th Street and 88th Avenue at 8:43 a.m. July 5 after an officer noticed he lacked a front license plate and had altered a temporary rear plate.
Police said the car did not have a front license plate and that white-out had been used to alter the expiration date on the temporary Kentucky plate.
Alashram was driving a gray 2016 Ford Fiesta he said he had purchased at a salvage auction in Kentucky. He was charged with unlawful possession of an altered license plate.
No license plates lead to arrest
Brandon D. Campbell, 35, was pulled over at 3:07 p.m. July 5 in the 8400 block of West 79th Street because his white 2015 Ford van had no licene plates.
He was charged with driving on a suspended license, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, failure to signal for a lane change, driving without insurance and driving on an expired registration.
Corvette driver nabbed for speeding
Kaleem A. Qazi, 32, was cited for speeding after police radar found his yellow 2025 Chevy Corvette doing 74 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone in the 7600 block of Roberts Road at 4:18 p.m. July 5.
Brief chase earns woman a speeding ticket
Davina Balougek Casas, 32, received a speeding ticket after she led police on a brief chase down Roberts Road in her black 2020 Porsche around 9 a.m. July 6.
After radar found her doing 67 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone in the 8300 block of Roberts Road, an officer gave chase. She sped up to 84 miles per hour in the 8200 block of Roberts Road before she was pulled over in the 7500 block.
She was ticketed for speeding 35 miles or more per hour over the posted limit.
No license, expired registration
Derrick Johnson, 54, received two tickets after a random check found his registration had expired in April and his driver’s license had expired in September 2021.
Johnson was pulled over in his black 2022 Lincoln Continental in the 8300 block of 88th Avenue at 9:58 a.m. July 8. He was cited for driving without a valid license and driving on an expired registration.
Speeding nets woman four tickets
Jocelyn Gonzalez, 20, was pulled over in the 7300 block of Archer at 5:52 p.m. because radar determined she was doing 65 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in her red 2006 Infiniti. She was cited for speeding, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and window tinting.
