Trespass to vehicle

A caller reported seeing a young male standing near an open car door in the parking lot in the 5100 block of Dansher Road at 3:59 p.m. June 19. The caller thought it was suspicious given several reported car break-ins in the area.

Officers responded and identified the juvenile but found no evidence he had entered the vehicle. No charges were filed.

Car window smashed

A resident of the 5800 block of Rose Avenue reported that between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 19, someone shattered the driver’s side window of their vehicle. Nothing was reported stolen.

Scam costs resident money

A resident in the 6600 block of Brainard Avenue reported receiving an email alert on June 20 that appeared to be from Robinhood Investments, claiming their account had been compromised.

The resident called a number listed in the email and spoke with someone who convinced them to transfer funds into a digital wallet. Once transferred, the resident lost access to the funds and realized they had been scammed. Police did not disclose the amount stolen.

Car vandalized on 58th Street

A resident reported that between 5:45 p.m. June 19 and 9 a.m. June 20, someone poured a sticky substance on their vehicle in the 9900 block of West 58th Street.

Soliciting without a permit

A resident in the 0 to 100 block of Maple Street reported on June 20 that an individual from US Gas and Electric had solicited at their door without a permit.

Officers located the individual, who had not obtained a soliciting permit from the city. The person was cited under local ordinance and given a court date. Police did not release the person’s name.

Graffiti found on concrete spillway

An officer on patrol noticed graffiti etched into the concrete spillway near the rear of a property in the 9900 block of 58th Street at 9 a.m. June 23.

Identity theft from stolen wallet suspected

A person at Voyant Beauty, 5331 Dansher Road, reported on June 25 that they suspect they are a victim of identity theft linked to a wallet stolen in 2017 while working at the business.

The complainant recently became aware of several accounts opened under their identity, which they suspect is connected to the wallet theft.

Bolingbrook woman charged with drunk driving

Lawanda Binion, 46, of Bolingbrook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after she was observed swerving and driving in the wrong lanes in the 6000 block of La Grange Road at 4:39 a.m. June 21, police said.

Officers had initially responded to a 911 call about a driver slumped over the steering wheel, but saw her driving northbound..

After they stopped her, they noticed signs of impairment and asked Binion to participate in field sobriety testing. After she failed those tests, she was arrested.

At the police station, Binion provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of .079. The legal limit in Illinois is 0.08.

Binion was also charged with driving in the wrong lane and improper lane usage. She was given a notice to appear at Bridgeview Courthouse for a hearing.
