Bright colors, flowing fashions and plenty of laughter set the tone Thursday, June 25, as members of the Palos Park Woman’s Club gathered at Capri Ristorante Italiano to celebrate the close of another successful club year and welcome the start of summer.
The “Caftans at Capri” luncheon, held at the restaurant at 12307 S. Harlem Ave., gave members a chance to step away from meetings and community projects for an afternoon of good food, conversation and friendship.

Every woman attending embraced the event’s theme by wearing a caftan, a loose-fitting, flowing garment that is popular for its comfort and effortless style. Often worn during warm weather or at beach resorts, the colorful outfits added a festive touch to the celebration and reflected the relaxed spirit of summer.
While the luncheon marked the end of the club’s season, the afternoon was less about wrapping things up and more about enjoying the friendships that have grown through years of working together in the community. Members shared stories, caught up with one another and celebrated another year of supporting local charitable, educational and civic causes.
Founded in 1902, the Palos Park Woman’s Club has a long history of giving back through scholarships, fundraising efforts and volunteer service while providing members with opportunities to build lasting friendships and make a difference in the community.
Although club activities will slow during the summer months, members are already looking ahead to another year of service when meetings resume this fall.
Women interested in becoming part of the organization are encouraged to join the upcoming club year. Membership information and details about the club can be found on the Palos Park Woman’s Club website.
The luncheon ended the same way it began, with smiles, laughter and colorful caftans filling the room, a fitting sendoff to another successful year and a warm welcome to summer.
