A 23-year-old Orland Park man was charged May 31 after police found him passed out behind the wheel of a stopped vehicle on 171st Street, with two other unconscious passengers inside, according to reports.
Angel Palma-Garcia, of the 9000 block of Kennedy Court, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, unlawful stopping/parking, expired registration, and illegal transportation of open alcohol.
Officers found two empty alcohol bottles inside the vehicle and detected a strong smell of alcohol on Palma-Garcia’s breath. His eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Police had to put the vehicle in park.
Two other passengers were also unconscious when officers arrived. Neither was charged.
