An Oak Lawn man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the August 12, 2020, murder of Johnny Portalatin, Summit police said.
Police said they responded to a report of shots fired in the 6000 block of 76th Avenue where they found Portalatin with apparent gunshot wounds.
Portalatin was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
Summit detectives, along with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, worked tirelessly to investigate the shooting. They quickly identified the shooter as Ricardo Infante, 33, of Oak Lawn.
Infante was taken into custody and charged with murder.
He was found guilty at trial and on June 16 he was sentenced to 50 years imprisonment. He has to serve all of the sentence due to a gun enhancement on the charge.
