Max Triplett, 40, of the 1600 block of Buena Vista Drive, Chicago Heights, was charged May 31 with retail theft after police said he stole four bottles of alcohol valued at $14 from Jewel.

He had the bottles inside his coat pockets when police stopped him walking northbound on 94th Avenue, police said.

Matthew Kerouac, 46, of the 14300 block of Streamwood Drive, Orland Park, was charged June 2 with retail theft after police said he took four bottles of alcohol valued at $120 from Walgreens on West 143rd Street.

Store security gave police Kerouac’s license plate to help identify him.  Police said Kerouac was the same person who committed two previous retail thefts at Walgreens on April 21 and May 28.

He denied taking anything from the store, but police said they found the alcohol bottles inside his vehicle.  Kerouac was given a lifetime ban from Walgreens.
