As the sun begins to set over the Village Green, the sounds of live music, laughter and conversation once again are filling the air in Palos Park.
The village’s annual summer concert series is bringing residents together throughout the season for free evenings of music, food and community at the Palos Park Village Green, 8901 W. 123rd St. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, coolers and pets while enjoying performances under the summer sky.
The season kicked off June 18 with Concert in the Park featuring Doug Horne & The Rhythm Makers. Families settled onto the lawn, children played nearby and neighbors caught up with one another as the band helped launch another summer of outdoor entertainment.

Palos Park Mayor Nicole Milovich-Walters said she was pleased to see so many residents gather at the opening concert and is excited about the events still ahead.
“We had a wonderful evening at our first concert of the season,” Milovich-Walters said. “Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the music and spend time with friends and neighbors. We look forward to a fun summer filled with great entertainment and opportunities to come together as a community.”
The next event on the calendar is Hot Dog Day & Concert on Wednesday, July 15. Grounds open at 4:30 p.m., and Whiskey Road will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The popular event pairs live music with a summertime favorite and has become a tradition many residents mark on their calendars each year.
The series wraps up Thursday, Aug. 20, with Concert on the Green. Grounds open at 5 p.m., and ReTurn2SouL will take the stage from 6 to 8 p.m., closing out the season with a mix of soul, funk and R&B hits.
Summer concerts have long been a staple of life in Palos Park, offering residents a reason to slow down, pull up a chair and spend an evening with friends, family and neighbors. With two concerts still ahead, village officials hope the Village Green remains a gathering place where memories are made and community connections continue to grow.
