A round of golf, good food and plenty of conversation made for a successful afternoon as the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Golf Outing on June 18 at Oak Hills Golf Course.

The event drew local business owners, elected officials and community leaders from across the Palos area for nine holes of golf and an opportunity to connect outside the boardroom.

Golfers spent the afternoon navigating the fairways and greens at Oak Hills Golf Course, 13200 S. 76th Ave., while catching up with colleagues, meeting new contacts and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that has made the outing one of the chamber’s most popular annual events.

Among those in attendance were Palos Heights Mayor Bob Straz, Palos Heights Mayor Nicole Milovich-Walters, Palos Area Chamber of Commerce President Todd Probasco and numerous local business and civic leaders.

The day focused on building relationships and strengthening community ties. Conversations that started on the tee box continued throughout the course, creating opportunities for networking and collaboration among chamber members and guests.

Following golf, participants gathered for dinner and refreshments, giving attendees additional time to connect and reflect on the day’s activities. Dinner was catered by Capri Ristorante Italiano, providing a fitting conclusion to the event.

The annual outing has become a tradition for the chamber, bringing together professionals from a variety of industries while highlighting the strong sense of community that exists throughout the Palos area. Events such as the golf outing help strengthen connections between businesses, local government and community organizations, all of which play an important role in the region’s continued growth.

As the afternoon gave way to evening, many participants lingered over dinner and conversation, proof that some of the most valuable moments of the day happened after the final putt dropped.

For the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce, the outing once again served as a reminder that business relationships are often built not only in offices and meeting rooms, but also on the fairways of a local golf course.
