Lost dog is found
A male golden retriever that ran away from its home was found by a police officer on May 27 and returned to its owner.
The dog had no collar, tags, or microchip, so it was taken to the Hinsdale Humane Society. The owner called police, learned the dog’s location, and picked it up.
Driver gets three tickets
An officer on patrol spotted a red Jeep with a suspended registration for non-insurance at Willow Springs Road and Archer at 11:13 a.m. May 29 and pulled it over.
The 38-year-old driver was cited for suspended registration for non-insurance, driving without a license, and driving without insurance.
Man arrested on warrant from DuPage County
A 28-year-old man came to the police department at 5:24 p.m. May 29 to help a friend obtain an impounded vehicle. After police checked his driver’s license, they discovered he was wanted on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court on a traffic violation. He was arrested.
Speeding driver gets two tickets
A 20-year-old man was pulled over at 10:58 p.m. May 29 after driving 79 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7600 block of La Grange Road. He was cited for speeding 26 to 34 miles per hour over the posted limit and driving without a valid license. The stop occurred in the 100 block of La Grange Road in Hodgkins.
Three mattresses dumped on church property
Three mattresses were found beside a Dumpster at St. John the Forerunner Church, 8500 S. Archer, at 8:30 a.m. May 31, and trash was forced inside. The Dumpster, delivered May 26, has a locking mechanism, but someone pried the lid open.
Box truck stolen from lot
A 33-year-old man reported that his 26-foot white box truck was stolen between May 1 and June 1 from a lot in the 7600 block of La Grange Road.
Speeding gets driver five tickets
A 29-year-old man driving a blue 2014 Nissan at 73 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7600 block of La Grange Road was cited for speeding 26 to 34 miles per hour over the posted limit, driving without insurance, driving without a seat belt, driving with an expired license (more than one year), and possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle outside an approved container.
