Vincent M. "Vince" Amodeo

Vincent M. “Vince” Amodeo passed away on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for over 40 years to Barbara, nee Virva.

Vince was the cherished father of Cathy Gaertner, Brad Amodeo, Sharyl Amovitz, Steve (Tammy) Padilla, Jill (late Daniel) Strohl, and Kerri Danicic (Ned). Vince was the proud grandfather of Jason (Denise) Gaertner, Joe Amodeo, Randi Strohl (Jeremy Shaw), Kevin (Kelly) Amodeo, Grace Amodeo, Brandon Padilla, Danny Strohl, Kyle Danicic, and Haley Danicic. Vince was the great-grandfather of Addyson, Jaxxon, Austin, and Liam. Vince will be missed terribly by his furry best friend, Prince.

Vince was a very intelligent businessman. He owned many successful businesses during his career. In addition to beauty salons and currency exchanges, he owned an Ace Hardware in Broadview, Illinois, earning him the title of “the Paint Doctor.” He was well respected and admired by his customers and colleagues. He was a kind and generous person. For all of his business achievements and successes, he saw his family as his greatest accomplishment. He was extremely proud of his entire family. The life lessons and inspirational advice he gave will remain with all of them forever.

Vince always found joy in every situation. His unfailing good humor and instantaneous wit endeared him to all. His jokes were priceless. He often said he enjoyed going to his “investment club” — a/k/a casinos — he and Barb would visit.

Vince faced every physical challenge, and he had many, with strength, courage, dignity and pride. Leaving a remarkable legacy, he will always be loved, cherished and forever remembered. Now it’s time for Vince to rest in glory. Saddle up Vince, job well done.
