The Countryside Summer Concert Series returns with eight nights of free music at Countryside Park, starting this week.
Concerts run from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, through Aug. 6. There is no concert on July 2.
The park is located on 61st Street, a half-block east of Brainard Avenue. Free street parking is available.
The lineup
June 11: Cadillac Groove plays Southern rock, blues, soul and rhythm and blues. Vendors: Pisa Pizza and Rainbow Cone.
June 18: Sincerely Sinatra/Close to Karen plays the hits of the late greats Frank Sinatra and Karen Carpenter. Vendor: Tacos Los Jarochitos.
June 25: Generation plays classic rock and soul hits. Vendors: Pizza 750 and Rainbow Cone.
July 9: Abby Kay Band performs country, rock, pop and blues. Vendors: Ledo’s Pizza and Rainbow Cone.
July 16: Toxic Crayon plays a mix of hits from the 1980s and 1990s. Vendors: Buona Beef and Rainbow Cone.
July 23: Feel Good Party Band performs a wide range of music from the 1960s to today. Vendors: Chick-fil-A and Rainbow Cone.
July 30: Petty Cash, a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers / Johnny Cash tribute band, headlines with Bipolar Bear opening at 6 p.m. Vendors: Ledo’s Pizza and Rainbow Cone. Fireworks follow the concert. If rained out, fireworks will be rescheduled for the following week.
Aug. 6: Classical Blast blends classical music and classic rock. Vendors: Pisa Pizza and Rainbow Cone.
Arrive early for the best views. Bring lawn chairs. Coolers and outside food are welcome.
