A Middle Eastern-style café and roastery known for pistachio lattes, roasted nuts and Mediterranean pastries marked its first year in Orland Park this May, drawing steady crowds to its La Grange Road location.
Al-Hamawi Roastery & Cafe, 15898 S. La Grange Road, opened last year and quickly became a destination for specialty drinks and imported snacks, pairing café offerings with a retail selection of nuts and Jordanian products. The shop operated daily, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at midnight most days, with Friday hours beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Inside, customers were met with the scent of fresh-roasted nuts and coffee. The menu featured drinks such as iced pistachio lattes, iced Spanish lattes, iced matcha and hot Turkish coffee, along with savory items including cheese manakeesh, meat sfeeha and spinach pie.
Store manager Youself Al Khazaleh said the reception from the community had been strong since opening.
“We are very happy to be in the Orland Park community,” Al Khazaleh said. He added that customers had been welcoming, noting many were repeat visitors.
The café is part of a small but growing group of Al-Hamawi locations, including stores in Bridgeview, a site inside Moraine Valley Community College and another in Wisconsin.
Al Khazaleh said one of the most popular drinks remained the pistachio latte, which he encouraged first-time visitors to try as a signature item.
The Orland Park café continued to lean into its mix of café culture and retail offerings, a combination that helped build a loyal customer base during its first year in business.
