Martin Andy Krol

Martin Andy Krol, a truck driver and computer technician who loved motorcycles, video games and making people laugh, died May 23 in an accident in Friendship, Wisconsin. He was 23.

He was born Jan. 28, 2003, in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Krol attended trade school and worked as a truck driver and computer technician, approaching both roles with what his family described as determination and a strong sense of responsibility. He was trilingual and enjoyed DJing, sports, singing and dancing. Those who knew him remembered his quick wit and his ability to lighten a room with perfectly timed humor.

He was the son of Barbara and Jan Krol and is survived by his siblings Sebastian and Gabriella Krol; his girlfriend Kylie; his grandmothers Maria and Aniela; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Andrzej Jamrych and Jan Krol.

Krol was a Catholic whose faith was central to his life. His family said he carried himself with optimism and kindness, and had a rare ability to be both strong and tender, serious when needed and playfully humorous in the next moment.

Visitation is Thursday, May 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice.

Prayers and a procession will begin Friday, May 29, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to Saint Fabian Church, 7450 W. 83rd St., Bridgeview, for a 10 a.m. Mass.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
