A man pulled over for various violations in Justice threatened to get a police officer fired when he was told he was getting six tickets on May 19.

An officer on patrol noticed a trailer pulled by the man’s black Dodge Ram truck in the 7500 block of Roberts Road lacked a license plate and working tail lights.

Because the trailer appeared overweight, it was taken to a vehicle scale in Bridgeview. It was found to weigh 28,580 pounds, nearly twice the 16,000-pound limit, police said.

The man, who was hauling vehicle parts and car batteries, pleaded with the officer not to issue him any tickets and he asked to keep the items.

When told that was not possible, the man said he would start a political party in Justice, win election as mayor and have the officer fired.

Zachary Van Allen, 43, was charged with failure to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), having an overweight trailer, driving without insurance, driving on an expired registration, driving without tail lights and having an unsecured load, police said.
