The Stickney-Forest View Little League held its annual opening day parade on May 9, drawing teams, community organizations, and youth athletes from six surrounding communities.
The parade began at Haley Park and ended at Rench Park, where the league held its opening day ceremony. Teams decorated floats and banners, and the procession included representation from the Stickney Soccer Association, village officials, police and fire departments, and athletes from J. Sterling Morton High School and Morton College.
“Events like the parade help strengthen community involvement and create lasting memories for the players and their families,” the league said in a statement.
The league serves just over 100 players from Cicero, Berwyn, McCook, Stickney, Lyons, and Forest View. The organization emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and confidence both on and off the field.
