Willow Springs School District 108 collected a significant amount of non-perishable food during a two-month drive in April and May, with donations set to reach the Willow Springs Food Pantry on June 16.
The effort was coordinated by Emily Jones, a teacher and Student Council advisor. The drive drew contributions from students, families, and residents across the district.
“This food drive exemplifies the spirit of our community and the importance of coming together to support one another,” Mayor Melissa Neddermeyer said. “It’s heartwarming to see our youth take such an interest in making a difference.”
School Board President Joe Bonomo praised the participants.
“We are incredibly proud of all the students and teachers who participated in this project,” he said. “Their hard work and dedication have made a meaningful impact on our community.”
