Brookfield officials declared May “Bike Month,” encouraging residents to cycle for transportation and recreation during Bike to Work Week which runs through May 17.

Residents can log rides online through the national Bike to Work Week program.

The proclamation coincides with Bike to Work Week, running May 11-17, a national initiative promoting bicycling for commuting and recreation.

The village has invested in bike infrastructure in recent years, including dedicated lanes and improved connections between neighborhoods and downtown.

Residents interested in participating in Bike to Work Week can log their rides online through the national program’s website.

The village encourages employers and community organizations to support employees and members who bike during the week and throughout the year.
