Coffee lovers in Oak Lawn now have a new spot to fuel their caffeine cravings, and it comes served in a bucket.

Brew Bucket Coffee officially opened Friday, May 8, bringing specialty coffee drinks, colorful refreshers and homemade pastries to the heart of downtown Oak Lawn.

Behind the counter are Oak Lawn residents Fadi Jaghama and Niveen Khalil, a husband-and-wife team who turned a family hobby into their first business venture. The couple, parents of five children with a sixth on the way, said the idea for the shop grew naturally out of life at home.

“My wife loves hosting at home, brewing her own coffee and coming up with different flavors,” Jaghama said. “It started out as a hobby.”

That hobby eventually became a full coffee menu, one built entirely from Khalil’s original recipes.

“All of the recipes on our menu were created by her,” Jaghama said proudly.

Inside the café, customers can find everything from iced lattes and matcha drinks to fruity refreshers and fresh pastries. One standout favorite has quickly become the Spanish Latte, a sweet and creamy blend made with espresso, steamed milk and sweetened condensed milk. The drink delivers a caramel-like flavor and eye-catching layered presentation that has already won over regulars.

Other popular menu items include caramel, mocha and white chocolate lattes, along with mango and strawberry matcha drinks.

The colorful refresher lineup includes Blue Razz, Mango Splash, Strawberry Lush, Dragon Drop, Midnight Berry and Watermelon Blast. Customers can also add Red Bull for an extra boost.

Still, the biggest conversation starter may not be what is inside the cup, but the cup itself.

At Brew Bucket Coffee, many drinks are served in actual buckets instead of traditional coffee cups, giving the shop a playful twist that customers have eagerly photographed and shared online.

“The buckets were my wife’s idea,” Jaghama said. “It’s different and fun.”

The couple said opening in downtown Oak Lawn felt like the perfect fit.

“We are right in the middle of downtown Oak Lawn. It’s perfect,” Jaghama said. “I love being part of the Oak Lawn community.”

The menu also features fresh baked pastries prepared in-house daily, including plain, almond, chocolate and strawberry-stuffed croissants, along with chocolate chip cookies baked fresh each day.

Brew Bucket Coffee is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

With buckets of coffee, homemade flavors and a growing family at the center of it all, the new café is already brewing up plenty of buzz in Oak Lawn.
