No injuries were reported after Orland Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a garage fire April 30 in the 10800 block of Caribou Lane.
Officials said occupants safely evacuated after an attached garage caught fire.
Firefighters forced entry into the garage and encountered heavy smoke. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread into the living areas of the home.
The fire was determined to have originated from a rack of battery chargers located in the garage.
Officials reminded residents to use caution when operating and storing batteries and battery charging equipment.
Palos and Tinley firefighters assisted Orland firefighters.
