A Chicago man was arrested after allegedly stealing expensive watches from a kiosk at Orland Square Mall.
Kaiden Bearden Nunes, 18, of the 8200 block of Wolcott Avenue, Chicago, was charged with theft after police said he grabbed two silver watches from the Exclusive Jewelry kiosk and ran through the mall before he was apprehended by police.
Police said the two watches, which were branded as Cartier, were valued at $1,600. Bearden initially approached the employee at the kiosk and asked to have a pendant made, police said. He gave the employee $200 to make the pendant, police said.
While the employee was making the pendant, Bearden took off with the watches, police said.
